Phare
Artist: Charles Daudelin
Year: 1999
Material: Painted steel, polycarbonate, lights
Service: Restoration
Charle's Daudelin Phare is a bright red painted steel sculpture which becomes alive at night when its lights turn on, evoking a lighthouse by the water. This sculpture was acquired in 2010 and installed on the shore of Lake Boivin in Granby.
It holds a lot of value for the city, not only because of Daudelin’s international renown, but also because the artist was born in Granby. In order to retrieve the pristine surface finish intended by the artist, DL HERITAGE renewed the artwork’s paint coating which had become heterogeneous because of harsh weather.
