Marianne
(La République)

Artist: Paul Chevré

Year: 1913

Materials: Bronze, stone

This allegory represents Marianne, also referred to as the French Republic. Created in 1913, this sculpture stands in front of the Union française of Montreal. Made of cast copper alloy (bronze), the sculpture and its base have been treated.

The surface of the statue was treated to stabilize the corrosion and a protective coating was applied. The stone pedestal has been cleaned and stains greatly diminished. DL HERITAGE is proud to have contributed to enhancing this Montreal heritage by carrying out part of the work as a donation.
